Using terminal to connect to GitHub

Step 1. Open up Terminal

It's in Applications / Utilities. Or find it using Spotlight.

Step 2. Navigate to your class folder

Type cd (drag your "interactive" folder into Terminal, and it should produce its path). It should look something like this:

cd /Users/laurelschwulst/Documents/Sites/interactive

Step 3. Add and commit your changes

Add your changes:

git add -A

Commit your changes with a specific message saying what you changed:

git commit -m "your commit message here"

You can also check the status of what is to be committed:

git status

Step 4. Push your changes

Once everything looks good, type:

git push

You should receive a successful message.
